Remember this yarn?

Yesterday I went through my stash, intending to take a picture of every single one of them so I can refer to the ‘photolog’ when I need to find some yarn. I thought it would be an easy task, but it wasn’t. Who knew stashes grow so quickly? I took one pic of each yarn/color and I only managed to go through about half of my stash.. I have 117 photos. Granted, I don’t really have a habit of buying yarn in sweater quantities until about 1-2 years ago, so about half of that half of my stash are actually mainly single balls or just in 2-3 balls quantity. Towards the 117th photo, I was getting really tired (I was down with a bad flu) so I only managed to take pictures of the yarn I have in ziplock bags in my cupboard. There are still the stray yarns and the ones in the bin.
I used to think I will never have a destash because “all my yarns are loved yarn”. But judging on how I’ve neglected them, I am beginning to come out of my denial.
But I can safely say that I’m still quite far away from accepting the fact that I need a destash.
Here are a few pics, of the yummy yarn, from the photolog.. (why do I always say yarn is yummy? Because it is! It is eye candy to me. You won’t believe how much I like colors. Lol.. My friend said I am like a little child in that sense.)

Some Debbie Bliss Pure Silk my last secret pal gave me. These are SO adorable with that button and ribbon around them, I don’t want to remove those until I am certain I have something I want to knit with it. I’m thinking maybe a lacey shrug.

Embers.

Kingfisher.

Avocado.
I’m still trying to decide whether I want my photolog to be virtual or physical.. Meaning if I should develop the pictures and bind them together with the yarn’s stats written at the back of each representative photo. That will definitely come in handy.
In any case, I have casted on a couple of projects. The first is a weasley pullover. I started it because I needed a simple carry-along project. But once I reached the part where I begin the intarsia, its no longer very ”carry-along” anymore. So I casted on for another project – Koolhaas.
I had been resisting jumping on the Koolhaas bandwagon because I think that pattern is too popular. But when I looked at the yarn I want knitted up, that is the only pattern I can see. The yarn had spoken. Koolhaas it is.
Koolhas is probably about 30% done now. I’m knitting it in some Noro Aurora that I manage to score at a discount at WEBS.* The yarn is pretty. The pattern is pretty. But I’m not a fan of cabling. Opps. Have I uttered the blasphemous confession? I admit! I’m not too fond of cabling because it is troublesome fiddling around with the stitches! In other words, I’m a lazy knitter.
Forgive me.
Pictures of the newest WIPs to come soon.
*I wasn’t exactly yarn shopping. I was trying to find the DPN for Giselle’s sleeve. Can you believe how difficult it is to find short 4mm DPNs? I settled for some Pony DPN in the end because they seem to be the only one with short 4mm DPNs. I would’ve prefered a nickel plated one. Oh, like I said, I was actually getting the needles but the yarn found its way into my basket. ;D
Oooh! Pretty!
I need to start building my own yarn stash! Im just to cheap and only like buying what Im going to use right away! HAHA
