This is my Koolhaas in Noro Aurora, as mentioned. Aurora is a dk yarn and Koolhaas required an aran weight yarn, so I made a little tweaking as usual.

I wish there were more pinks in this colorway, though. But purples are fine. (^_^) The polyester that runs throughout the entire length of yarn gave it that glittery look. Though I’m usually not too fond of glittery stuff, I like this. It really reminds me of aurora borealis.

This is the Weasley Pullover. You can see a tiny bit of the intarsia at the top-center of the pic. Loving the tweediness.

The dog coat had been chugging along. I ripped it and started it with a slightly bigger needle because the previous needle is causing it to pull in too much for my liking.

I recently acquired some handpainted rovings from dragonfibers. This is a 70 wool/30 mohair blend.

Actually, I won’t want to spin mohair. But I was so attracted by the colors I decided to give it a try.

Here it is in singles, on the bobbin.

And plied up here. I decided against navajo plying because I think it will mix up the colors too much and cause it to look muddy, which is not what I’m aiming for.

After washing it and shaking it out a little (spanking, more like. I hit it against the bathroom wall-tiles to help it even out better, and get more of the water out after a quick spin in the machine) I hung it up overnight. By the next day, I have a dry skein.

Another handspun to the growing stash of handspuns.
As I thought, I did not like spinning mohair too much. Maybe I’m just paranoid, but it felt like the mohair was aiming straight for my nose! My nose gets irritated easily so there was a few times during the span of spinning this fiber, when I had to run for the toilet, literally, to wash my face. I was happy to have finished spinning it, though. Using sticky tape to remove the layer of stray mohair was a very satisfying round up.
Great looking wips! and beautiful looking yarn. I dont even like looking at mohair in the stores.. just makes me want to start scratching my arms and face. ahha but looks like you got a nice tight spin with it.
really beautiful mohair Kessa – cant wait to see it knitted up
& i agree about the hair aiming for your nose – that seems to happen to me too *lol*
I finally got around to the meme today too
